What a year it has been so far! Apart from pushing our science forward, the lab has done a LOT in the first half of 2026:
- We’ve traveled to many conferences – Luisa presented at ASBMB in DC; Megan presented at the Gordon Research Conference on Chromatin Structure and Function (as the only C. elegans representative there!) in Spain; Luisa, Eric, Megan, and Ozzy attended the C. elegans MAPSS + Dev Cell meeting in Madison, WI where Eric gave a talk and Megan and Ozzy gave posters; and Luisa and Lo-Yu presented at the SDB meeting in Las Vegas.
- We have welcomed new folks into the lab: Aria Mazza and Tina Liu (undergraduates) and Aijia Wang (BME masters student), plus we had an amazing summer exchange student from Greece, Daniella Bakoli!
- We graciously handed over the Johns Hopkins Wormlympics Golden Pick to the 2026 winners, the Seydoux Lab.
- And finally, we said a tough farewell to our amazing Austrian, Ariane Mandlbauer, as she moves on to her next adventure in industry in Vienna. We are all so lucky to have worked with you and learned from you.
